Meet our gorgeous customer Amanda.
I am Amanda, married and mother of 3 living in Singapore for over 15 years. I am a nurse and balance our busy family life while working full time at a restructured hospital.
Living in the tiny red dot for over 15 years has opened up many wonderful opportunities that I wouldn't have experienced if my husband and I decided not to take up the opportunity to come to Singapore. Moving and living in Singapore has had a huge impact in so many ways including my interest in clothes I now wear and a deeper interest in the art of fashion. I don’t really consider keeping up with the latest fashion trends. What draws me into the clothes I wear is the stories they tell and the way I feel when I wear them. I gravitate to vibrant colours because they feel fresh and fun. They often are a good way to start off a conversation with someone and I am always up for a good conversation and opening up a way to hear someone’s ‘story’. I often wear dresses due to the warm weather and ease and comfort of wearing them. All of what I love in clothes and fashion is found with Theresa Cotton. I absolutely adore the vibrant colors and patterns of the prints and find the cuts and designs very flattering and wearable.

I asked Amanda about her style
How does your style fit your lifestyle?
Since I wear uniforms at work, wearing dresses to and from work is easier to deal with. Also since I am not constrained by having to wear formal office attire, I can wear what I want. Due to warm weather most of my wardrobe is very light and climate friendly and it’s often more cooling.
What items do you wear on repeat?
I wear a lot of dresses. I think partly it’s because I don’t need to think about coordinating many different pieces together and the ease of slipping into something with minimal effort.
Other than that my go to pants would be a pair of jeans due to their versatility.
Which celebrity style do you admire?
I don’t think I actually have a particular celebrity that inspires my style. There isn’t anybody in particular that I gravitate to. I have been increasingly influenced to appreciate more slow and sustainable quality fashion. I have become increasingly disillusioned over time with the current state of the fashion industry due to the negative environmental impact due to the poor quality of the products and world wide promoting of excess. I also have grown to love the art in design that is carefully crafted by individuals who have love for what they produce. I love a piece that tells a story.
How would you describe your style in 3 words?
Colorful, fun, wearable.
What is one wardrobe basic you can’t live without?
If I was to pin it down, it would probably be a comfortable pair of shoes.
